This prompt helps automatically log completed work to periodic weekly notes with timestamps and wikilinks.
It's designed to quickly capture work sessions in a consistent format that integrates with Obsidian's periodic notes workflow.
This is particularly useful for maintaining accurate work logs without manual timestamp tracking or formatting.
How to Use
This prompt is designed to be used with AI coding assistants that have file system access capabilities, such as:
- Claude Code (Anthropic's CLI)
- Cursor IDE
- OpenCode
- Windsurf/Codex
Steps:
- Complete a work session with your AI assistant
- Copy and paste the prompt below
- The assistant will extract the session details and add them to your weekly periodic note
Best Practices:
- Run this at the end of each significant work session
- Ensure your periodic notes follow the format:
